SAFE

safe is a befriending scheme which aims to offer friendship and support to those in Warwick. It is part of Saltisford Church’s commitment to help its local community.

safe was established in 2006 after discussion with local care providers identified the need.

Most people have times in their lives when things are tough – it can make it easier if you have a friend to talk to. Some people are very isolated and don’t get chance to make friendships, others may be recently bereaved or a new mum at home with a baby or someone caring for a sick relative – there are many reasons why people may need a friend.

The befriending scheme aims to match volunteers who are able to give time and friendship to those who need help, either temporarily or regularly over a longer period of time. All the volunteers are trained to offer support, friendship and encouragement in the local community.

All volunteers have an enhanced criminal record check and undergo training on child protection. Referrals can come from any professional who feels their client may benefit from this scheme, and only once the client has agreed to the referral.

You can make referrals Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm by phoning 07810 387398, or by filling in the contact form below. The information we require is: client’s name, address, phone number, date of birth, doctor’s details and reason for referral.
